Empowering young people through arts-based mentoring.

10.19.16 (Miami, FL) Guitars Over Guns hosts its third annual benefit concert to raise funds for new programming that serve more of Miami-Dade’s at-risk youth through arts-based mentoring. The evening, hosted by Kimmy B of 99JAMZ, will feature music by ArtOfficial, one of Miami’s best local bands, along with highly anticipated surprise performances from well-known musicians. Guests will enjoy delicious food from Mena Catering, along with beverages courtesy of Bombay Sapphire, Russian Standard Vodka, and Wynwood Brewery, while perusing an extensive silent auction, featuring a 4-night stay at the Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita.

Guitars Over Guns delivers high impact arts-based mentoring programs to empower young people to make positive life choices. The program works collaboratively with schools, communities and professional artists to encourage young people to reach their highest potential through individual expression, social interaction, and personal accountability. The Guitars Over Guns program is designed to engage youth through culturally relevant artistic mediums, using a hands-on approach to teach music, dance, and visual arts.

Why: Guitars Over Guns serves Miami’s most underserved youth through a unique combination of music education and mentorship that has been transforming our community for the last 8 years.
