Do you ride the Metrorail to work or school and wonder why it’s always late? Do you follow Miami-Dade municipal elections like they’re national news? theAOinsight Group seeks an advocacy-minded, creative communicator with a passion for public policy and a knowledge of social media to fulfill a 4-month summer position, with the possibility of paid retention through the fall.

Intern will work with theAOinsight Group and their client Transit Alliance Miami, a public transit advocacy organization, to coordinate daily social media messaging, engage directly with public transit and social sector influencers, increase number of followers, and drive audience engagement leading up to the Miami-Dade County budget hearing in September.

The goal: to help Miami-Dade residents understand the causes of our County’s public transit problems, and to communicate how they can get involved in holding lawmakers accountable and advocating for a safe, sustainable, and reliable public transit system in our community.

Applicants should have experience with social media platforms, especially Twitter, including content development and analytics. Bonus points if you have graphic design skills, and if you speak Spanish or Creole, though it’s not required. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate complex ideas about local governance and transit policy in a clear, concise, accessible, and fun way!

To apply, send a resume, cover letter, and writing or social media sample to theaoinsight@gmail.com by June 15, 2018. Interviews will be conducted in person within the first week of June.
